Veg near snowdrops
in Fruit & veg
hello I am in the process of making a small veg patch in my garden. The patch was previously grass with some snowdrops. I am relatively new to growing veg and was concerned about growing veg where there was snowdrops previously (with snowdrops being poisonous) I have removed as many bulbs as I can find. There are also some snowdrops growing outside of the patch.......any advice would be greatly recieved......thanks

Poisons cannot transfer from one plant to another so you have absolutely nothing to worry about - you could grow deadly nightshade next to lettuces and still be able to eat the lettuce.
agree, no possibility of one plant absorbing bits of another, that's scifi stuff. Or maybe tabloid journalism if they're short of a scare story.

that sounds very likely Philippa

or maybe a large courgette raisingirl...they frighten me anyway!
Replant the lovely snowdrops somewhere that you can see them properly Katie - it would be a shame if you couldn't see them for curly kale
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I thought that was just cats - oh hang on - no it's cucumbers that cats are scared of, isn't it. Wrong cucurbit. I'm always doing that

Thanks all......I have dug up all I can find and have hundreds! The garden had been left for years so very over grown, been giving them away........looking forward to getting some veg in next! Thanks!
