Hosta "blue mouse-ears"

Goldie4Goldie4 Posts: 14

I have a blue mouse ears that I'd like to move.  I know the little hostas don't take to splitting in the same way their larger counterparts do and require more intensive propagation.  My plant is just starting to poke its nose through and this is its second year in my garden.  I bought the plant at a show last year and have decided its in the wrong place.

Can I dig it up now? How extensive are their roots -the pot was 3" when I bought it.

TIA :)

I've never found a problem splitting hostas at this time of year, even if they're well into growth.

I've got  blue mouse ears and I've yet to split it, but I will be soon.

    Devon.
