Had to pick a bit off & take a photo when I got home, so it got a wee bit squashed!! From a tallish, straggly shrub.

Possibly one of the cherry family?

Thanks Ladybird - will have a google! I'll also try to get a photo of the whole shrub.

  • Pyrus salicifolia 'Pendula', by the looks of it. Slightly weeping habit?

Thanks Hortum - it does look like it. The leaves & flowers on this one are tiny - a cm at the most for the leaves & the flowers are small too. The cutting here is just bigger than the palm of my hand.

Gosh Maisie that is teeny. I thought it was bigger than that - not that that helps me get anywhere nearer identifying it image

Some more photos - these are the best I can do image. Where it's growing is in an overgrown, 'forgotten' part of my mum's garden. They did put plants in years ago but didn't plant anything in that spot. There's the remainder of some daffodils at the bottom left of the bush, that should give an idea of the size.

  • Ah, the size changes everything. That picture tells me that the shrub is spiraea arguta. Known as Bridal Wreath.
