Snapdragon from seeds

Are these seedlings too leggy? And can I do anything about them? If I planted some more, how do I stop them becoming leggy too?

Thanks

Hi Charlie, those could be put outside during the day to harden them off, so they are less 'sappy'. They should improve then. With future sowings, making a light box from a cardboard box and tin foil is a good idea. It stops seedlings overstretching to reach light image

They've not had enough good quality sunlight Charlie. You've kept them warm so they're growing and searching for light. It's a balance between heat and good light, and they've had too much heat and not enough light.
This time of year the sun's rays are getting stronger by the day.
You could try transplanting them when their 'true' leaves appear (this indicates the roots will survive transplanting) and bury them up to the 1st set of leaves - they may be ok

If you sow again now and once germinated keep the seedlings in good light then you'll be ok, but snapdragons take a while to flower.

Oh ok thanks, yeah I hadn't thought about burying them, I will try that. The light box sounds great though, I will sow some more too.

I bury my leggy seedlings on a regular basis especially the ones I sowed too early in the season. Now that light lvl are better they aren't as leggy.
