Foxgloves

I'm very lucky to have a huge amount of foxgloves come up this year however they've all seemed to grow in one area all on top of each other....so I moved them spread them out abit but now they are all limp and sad looking i have watered them but didn't seem to help....will they come back?

Hi Hattie Elizabeth. It depends on how long it is since you moved them. If its not too long I would just be patient. They do usually move quite well. Do not over water them though as that can be damaging.

I've found that foxgloves in the ground are usually quite happy to be moved, up until the stage when they start to put up a flower spike ... once that has started they're best left where they are unless you can take a really large rootball.

I find they put up with a lot of abuse. They have to here image

As Ladybird says, if you've moved them recently, they'll just be adjusting to the move.

Agree with everyone here, I'm often potting up self sown foxgloves, then planting somewhere else etc. Very tough plants image

  • Ok thank you all! I only moved them a couple of days ago so hopefully they will come back ?

Make sure to spread lots of seeds where you do want them later in the year.
