What plant is this?

Although I have managed to identify pretty much everything else that was in our garden when we moved in 5 years ago - this tall shrub has remained a mystery. It has great flowers the bees love in late summer and these look vaguely like those on a cotoneaster but it is roughly 8 foot tall now!

Thanks all.image

    Looks like cotoneaster to me.

  • Thanks for suggestions so far. Here's another photo a bit further away - hope this helps. It won't let me rotate it - sorry!

A very tentative suggestion ... Cotoneaster simonsii???  but I think it flowers in the spring, not late summer image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
