Dead Ivy

imageimageHello,

Yesterday, I asked why my Ivy is dying off in parts even though the rest of it seems to be thriving. Mike Allen kindly offered a possible solution to cure the problem but I thought that in the meantime I could show you a picture to see if anyone else has some quick fix solutions. You will notice too, that it is very thick as it has been growing for over 20 years and we don't know how to cut it back. My husband has tried but the wood is so strong he is having difficulty getting shears through it. He is all for cutting the whole lot down but I won't let him as its the nearest I have to a "Cottage in the Country" Can anyone help please?

If you cut it down it will grow back unless it's dead

no quick fix, the upper part is dead and needs to come off

Thank you nutcutlet, I suppose deep down I knew what the answer would be. I'll just have to get on with it.

    HEllon BLT,

Don't you think it adds character to your house? Ours was built in the 70s and looked  soulless  that's why I planted it.
