Name of plant?

Can anybody tell me the name of this plant?

Also I don't know why it's flopped, it never was like this. If I cut it back will it grow back?

    Hi image

Your plant is a fern - those are last year's leaves.  You'll see new leaves growing from the centre of the base of the plant - they look like shepherd's crooks unfurling

Cut the old leaves off down low being careful not to cut the new fronds.  Very soon your fern will look better than ever.

I cut all mine back yesterday.

    Thank you.

Yes I will cut them back tonight as it is looking very untidy. Is spring the right time to cut them back or should it be done earlier? Just asking as then I will know for next year.

Now is the perfect time ... just before the new fronds unfurl image
