Waitrose (Not one of the good guys)

Two days ago I sent an email to waitrose customer care complaining that they had sent the wrong plant to me. They failed to respond so I called them yesterday at 4.55 the customer care line was supposed to close at 5.00 but a recorded voice kept telling me to hold on and my query would be dealt with. At 5.15 I gave up and called the order line to complain about what had been happening and the guy at the other end of the phone said he would pass a message on and someone would get back to me first thing this morning. No one has and so I have sent a follow up email.
Didn't really expect this from Waitrose. On this occasion they are definitely not one of the good guys.

I phoned PN yesterday to say that in my order which I had received 10 days ago, 6 of the plants have not shown any signs of shooting and should I still have hope. They immediately offered to replace them - no arguments, could not have been nicer. One up for them.
Yvie, "Head office" seem to forget that retail is more than 9-5 Monday to Friday I'm afraid.
IT certainly don't work outside those hours , which is hardly helpful when we need IT help in-store at the weekend. hey ho.
Agree Hosta, I wouldn't have minded if the phone message had mentioned that I should call back tomorrow if it was after 5 as the phone wouldn't be answered, but it just kept telling me to hold on.
I do think that 2 days is long enough for them to answer my email or call me back though.
They finally contacted me and agreed that the wrong plant had been sent. They are delivering the right one on Saturday. They are also refunding postage. So a good result in the end. I'm giving the other clematis to second born as I have one similar and don't have a suitable spot for it.
