Very poorly rhododendron
Good morning.
Please could anyone help me?
I have a very poorly rhododendron, and I have no clue as to why?
This was planted in the pot last year, the soil is moist, and it gets a reasonable amount of sun. There are no spots on the leaves, but as you can see from the picture the leaves are very droopy and the buds almost non existent.
Does anyone know what could be going on?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Paul, is it sitting on a tray of water? Probably not a good idea as it would need drainage and perhaps the roots are starting to rot. Also these need ericaceous compost to thrive. I'm sure others will be along with more advice too
Hi Paul. Is the Rhododendron in ericaceous compost? Signs of overwatering are similar to the signs of underwatering e.g. drooping leaves. You might know if the soil seems to be too wet. Have you seen any signs of vine weevil around as the grubs can be a real nuisance in containers - munching through plant roots?

Snap jaffacakes!
Hi Jaffacakes & Ladybird4
Many thanks for your reply's.
It was planted in ericaceous compost and the pot is not sealed at the bottom, so excess water can escape. I will take the plant out of the pot and check for vine weevil. many thanks again for your help.
I think that's dead. Vine weevil possibly, but seeing all leaves like that points towards something more basic as suggested above.
