Which pressure washer to buy for professional use?

I want to branch out into patio and driveway cleaning but can't decide which pressure washer to go with?

Can anyone recommend?

Many thanks

  • A big karcher and you only need water. Our 20 year old drive came up like new with no detergents, just the lance and waterproofs and wellies.

    Its a very messy job!

I like Karcher too but a recent comparison test on TV showed that a similar budget Bosch did well too.   Karchers do have a special head for terraces which reduces the splash and mess factor.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

  • We had to use the lance as the grime went back 20 years. It even shifted black algae which is apparently really hard to clean off. We went for Karcher as well because it has so many accessories you can add for car cleaning, window cleaning etc. etc.

I don't think you'll go far wrong with Karcher.  I've used them for years and have always been happy with them.  For professional use, the more powerful the better, but bear in mind that more pressure also increases the risk of damage to the pointing between slabs, and will blast out more of the sand if used on block paving.  If you're cleaning I presume you'll also be responsible for repairing any damage.
