Anyone else thinking we are having a particularly good year for camellias?
On seperate note - can anyone advise how long it would take to grow a fully established camellia bush, the likes you see in old gardens that are basically trees?
We had lots of wind and rain here which damaged the buds just before they opened so not great. To answer your second question, it would depend on how happy they are, what variety they are & the aspect they are in, anything from 6-10 years would be my guess. Mine doesn't grow particularly quickly.

I think the good show this year is due to a mild winter, and no frosts to damage the buds or opening flowers.
