Spraying weeds in my lawn and reseeding

Hi, I would be really grateful for any advice on how I can improve my lawn:  It's a large area (about 2,000 sq m) but is full of self heal (too much to dig out) and moss. I have sprayed the moss and raked it out, leaving lots of bald patches which I plan to re-seed.  But I would also like to get rid of the self-heal before it becomes completely rampant again in the summer.  Is there a chemical spray I can use now, and which would also allow new grass to grow?  Or a spray I can use once the new grass has germinated - and if so, how long should I wait before applying it?

You need to spray before you re-seed or you will have to wait, depending on the product and manufacturers instructions, of 2 months+ before spraying after re-seeding. When the weeds are growing strongly then a selective weed killer such as Verdone Extra will kill the self-heal. You can sow pretty much immediately after the application as the killer works in contact with the weed rather than the soil.

Thanks Dave, that's very helpful.  Can you suggest a spray you might use in these circumstances?

Sorry, I misread your reply!  I'll purchase some Verdone Extra as suggested
