What would you plant here?

hi there,

looking for some inspiration on what to plant in this area?

I had dug up a load of carex pendula which was taking over the area.

it is beneath an apple tree, gets good sunlight morning to mid afternoon, then it's shaded.

A trip to the garden centre this afternoon, so some ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.image

I'd go for hardy geraniums image

I have spring bulbs followed by Astilbes, hardy geraniums and hostas under my Apple tree. They all flourish in the shade of the canopy and look fab.

Many thanks, looks like Geraniums it is then!

I'd add in some Spring bulbs too. Attract the pollinators early so they come back for the apple blossom.
