Compost juice

I've made compost for years so usually make a lovely useable batch. However, I acquired a plastic bin (no bottom or drainage holes) and decided to experiment by filling it with veg peelings. Of course it quickly acquired lots of fluid as it can't drain. Also a composting smell (stench really).

So I now want to empty it, but I'm hoping it's all useable.

My question is about the brown stinky fluid. Is that usable as a liquid feed? If so, is it very concentrated and how much would it need watering down?

I'm planning to put some of the 'solids' onto a compost heap and some into a bean trench. So it's just the fluid I'm not sure about.

Thanks

It will be fine as a lquid feed as long as you water it down well.  The 'rule of thumb' for home-made liquid feeds is to dilute them until the water looks like weak tea.  That is usually about 20:1.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Thank you. I'll try that.
