Is my ceanothus dead? :(

    Ma had a beautiful ceanothus - it was full of bees every year - then one year it just turned up its toes and pegged it.

    Ma replaced it with a wisteria.

    Doesn't wisteria take years? Need privacy from neighbours ugly extension ?
