Eggs on water lily stem

Anyone any idea what has laid these eggs on my water lily? image

    Both are in the pond, or were last autumn...

    Definitely snail eggs. Looks good for Great Pond Snail (the very big pointy one). Newt eggs are laid singly under leaves which are then folded to cover the egg.

    Thank you all. It is only a half barrel and so I may take action to stop it getting overwhelmed
