Nettle tea for clematis?

Hi

would my homemade nettle brew fertiliser be ok for spring use in clematis? Or has it got too much nitrogen. I'd say my nettle tea is quite a strong batch!

thanks in anticipation for your advice

It is mostly nitrogen so save it for leafy plants.  Clematis need food to encourage flowers too so comfrey tea would be better.

  • I have comfreybtea too but assumed you'd save it till it was about to flower. Should I use it now or something else whilst the clematis are just putting in growth?

Now and later.  It encourages flower production.
