    See original post

The leaves do a bit but I didn't think the stems and the way of growth looked right

Yes, you're right about the stems not being right for a geranium nut.

I've never had success with delphs, so can't compare.

I mainly only "know" what I grow when it comes to ID's image

Looks like the first leaves of my delphinium too - beware of the slugs

  • Thank you so much for your responses. Are we saying the bottom one is potentially delphinium or the top two (which may even be the same plant?).

I did sow delphiniums last year, I just can't remember where!  I've never done geraniums so that rules that out!

    Thanks again

Could the top two pics be Echinacea?

Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

  • Good point, I did sow some seeds. Thank you, I won't dig them up!

bottom one looks like my delphiniums (the only ones I actually managed to grow from seed) the top two couldn't be campanula could they?

Last one is definitely delphinium. I no longer grow them because they get ravaged by slugs, but the foliage is quite distinctive  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
