Can this plant survive

Hi,

I'm brand new to this forum! I was wondering if I could get advice and help.

First, I think this plant is a Dracaena (from what was suggested to me). From the photo, could someone confirm if it is?!

This is now my plant, I saw that it was dying and took it to try and revive it. Do you think it can come back? Would anyone have suggestions on how to bring it back? I don't know whether I should cut it back, and if I should, where do I cut it?

The green stem is growing up to 30cm.

When I get it home I'll be putting it into a new pot with fresh soil - should I just leave it at that and hope for the best?!

Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. No attachment at all, but I like a challenge! I found it in my work and said I'd give it one last shot at survival!

I definitely don't need any encouragement to bring plants home, but I'll take your suggestion to buy a living plant and follow it through image

    Thanks again!

Sorry for the delay, I couldn't access my log on! I have it replanted because I'm a glutton for punishment, but I also had a little look around the local flower shop just in case this one doesn't make it!

I'll update with progress, good or bad! imageimage

    Hi!

So I thought I'd give an update. After maybe 2 weeks nothing was happening so I decided to chop it right back and see what happened.

It seems to have taken it quite well, it's slowly growing again. It's happy enough sitting in the window! I've attached a picture. It's not handsome yet, but it's just a duckling stage! image

Wahay. keep it watered, fed and in a sunny position , and you may have a plant. Take it in for the winter.
