Creative ways to fill garden bed

Hi all,

I have a garden in my backyard. I am looking for ways to fill my garden bed and make it look pleasant. I found some interesting ways here, http://inthebackyard.ca/creative-ways-fill-garden-bed/ . Planting boxes are a very practical idea. Square foot gardening is another idea that helps to allow make the most of your gardening space with a variety of crops by making the bed in a certain number of square inches. What are your ideas? How do you all make your gardens look beautiful? It would be great if you all could share your ideas with me.

    I'm assuming from your terminology and that link that you are in Canada or the USA.

    This is a British based forum so very different gardening conditions - climate, soil etc - and then there's the question of tastes and budgets and customs.

    Maybe you'd like to share some pics of your garden.
