White Fungus on fibre pots

Hi Guys, last week I bought fibre plant pots for the first time to pot on small plugs. The problem is the past few days I've noticed a white fungus on the top soil and today I've realised that the fungus is everywhere around the outer of the pots. Wish I'd stuck with plastic pots. Any suggestions? I'd be most grateful for any advice, Thanks

This often happens and is nothing to worry about as it won't affect the plants.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

As Bob has said, perfectly normal - it's these fungi that help to break down the pot when you plant your seedlings out in the bed.

As far as I'm aware, unless someone has an extreme susceptibility/allergy there should be absolutely no problems.

My OH has a tendency to asthma triggered by cats and strongly scented flowers, but has never shown any problems when we have lots of sweet pea seedlings etc in fibre pots (complete with white fungus) on the windowsills.
