Is it on the move yet or no? I have nothing, zilch, nada and I'm worried that it died over winter.
Can I be consoled by other more experienced growers?
Thanks.
Mine is the same, not a sign.
Rubarb is romping away though....
I have 3 or 4 spears showing but nothing yet from most of the crowns. I'm in Essex.
I think it's a bit early - the Norfolk commercial growers don't expect any field grown asparagus to be ready until mid April at the earliest.
The soil should start warming up with the warmer weather forecast for next week - that should wake the crowns up a bit.
I've just been told that asparagus from Norfolk polytunnels is expected in the farm shop in a little over a week, all being well.
No date for the field grown crop yet.
Great, there's still hope! Thanks Team

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
