Thank you, its never flowered before so was a surprise to see this morning. Do you have any pictures of what it should look like or tell me how we should be looking after it?
It's a small to medium sized tree, happy on almost any soil, but most often on damp sites. It's ordinary through the year, but at its best when, in early to mid- spring it produces those lovely catkins. Good food plant for many species of moth.

Pussy willow, or goat willow, or great sallow. Salix caprea is its latin name and that's the male flower. The trees are either male or female.

Great. Do you know how to treat a yellow powder that I presume is mould, its on the underside of the leaves. Is it dangerous do you know?
could it be pollen from the catkins?

Hi, no as its the first time in about 8 years that we've had catkins and there's no leaves yet. It seams ok when the leaves are young.
