Hi, can someone please tell me what this is and how best to prune it - it's too big. Thanks all imageimage

    Could well be a Cotoneaster. If so then you may cut it back as hard as you choose. It will re-shoot from what you leave with no trouble.

    Looks like cotoneaster to me - the flowers are adored by bees, and the berries are great for birds. image

    No trouble to cut back as Berghill says. 

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Yes, I have a cotoneaster. Is now a good time to prune it then?

    Does not seem to matter when it is cut back. I am about to do ours where it impinges on the path. It will be back in the way by mid-summer.
