Horse manure
I have just started a small cutting bed and we have covered it on horse manure. I am not intending to plant out my newly potted dahlias until may. I realise now this may not be the best way to fertilise the soil. Will it still be OK to dig it over and leave for 4-6 weeks and safely plant dahlias or are they likely to rot?

Hi Carolyn- was the manure well rotted when you put it on? It's only an issue if it's fresh and you want to plant into it right away.
It can take a few months to rot down properly.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
