Mis-shapen cistus silver pink
Hi all, I have a few cistus silver pinks in my garden, planted two years ago this spring - most have grown naturally into a lovely shape and I have never pruned them.
One is totally lopsided - it's grown lengthways only rather than widthways and it's very leggy.
How do I bring it back into shape? The centre seems to be brown and woody - I'm not sure how far in I can cut?

You'll struggle. They don't take kindly to being pruned hard into shape. Unfortunately with a lot of the Mediterranean plants (like this one) and New Zealanders (hebes), they tend to go leggy if unchecked, or not 'managed' regularly. They don't mind what they look like and are quite happy sprawling, but we do mind and it can be a fight to make a plant do other than how it is naturally. Might be a case of planting something near it to disguise the lopsidedness or remove it and replace. 'Silver Pink' is a lovely soft colour against that greyish leaf, but sometimes difficult to find in garden centres.
