ID please?
Can anyone ID this plant for me please, it appeared in the garden late last autumn and has grown well and wasn't affected by the winter conditions. Not entirely sure where it came from and whether its a keeper or one to remove?
Thanks in advance

Looks like common spurge to me - a native form of euphorbia and a weed. Be careful of getting the sap on your skin as exposure to sunlight can then lead to a nasty rash.
Thanks very much for the quick response. I guess I'll be wearing gloves when digging this out then!
thanks
Andy
When I first saw the pic I thought Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens' (Honeywort) - it looks very similar.
I've not much experience with spurges, so it could be one of them.
Have a google and see what you think

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
I thought cerinthe as well, the common euphorbia is more erect than what is showing in the picture.
It's a cerinthe, a splendid one.
Manner of growth all wrong for any euphorbia
In the sticks near Peterborough
Thanks for the comments all, yes I also think its a Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens'.
I took a closer look and found a few purple buds starting to come through which I think clinches it!
Wont be digging it up after all
Thanks
Andy
There is a floppy, creeping form of spurge common in teh UK but yes, those purple flower buds make it cerinthe. Much loved by flower arrangers for some reason.
My guess is Cerinthe - I have loads in my garden. Seeds itself like mad.
