I can post my pics tomorrow - it's too dark to see the flowers now lol - but for those posting the fritillaries, beware of pheasants! I bought some fritillaries in flower last year and within days the petals started to disappear and within a week they had all gone.
It turned out that pheasants were the culprits, something I would have known if I'd properly read an old copy of GW from the previous spring where Mr Titchmarsh happened to mention that fritillaries are strangely attractive to pheasants.
Mine are not yet in flower (Aberdeenshire) but this year they will have to be slightly obscured by chicken wire if they are to last longer than last year!
No longer newish but can't think of a new name so will remain forever newish.
My spring flowers today. All of the pansies are actually from last summer and were 50p for 8 from B&Q's bargain shelf. I just kept trimming them and they just kept coming. So much for summer bedding!! The mahonia is a bit of a cheat as it's almost done flowering but it still smells lovely. The last pic is also a slight cheat as the azaelea isn't quite out yet...

I am not sure if these count as spring flowers except for the forget me, but they are all in flower today petunia and nasturtium Included. None of these were bought this year so not brought on in a hot house.

A little snapshot of spring from my garden
I know it's not what you typically think of as spring flowers but this Pieris is awash with its delicate white bells.
