Calla Lily

I planted a Calla Lily rhizome a few weeks ago. This has happened. I was convinced it was planted the correct way up but these look like roots. Any thoughts? Leave to correct itself or move? The picture may not help; I can always zoom-in if more info is needed.

if it's been in the pot " a few weeks" the roots will be growing down ( even if the corm is upside down ) If these " shoot" have just appeared, they're fine.

Is it in a darkish place? They seem very pale.

    Hi Hostafan,

Thanks for the info. The pot is in the greenhouse, so plenty of light. It is bizarre. :)

how close it is to the surface? It might be too shallow for roots to go down, without going up first. If that makes sense.

I can't see it doing any harm to leave a wee while longer. You could gently remove it to check. Obviously being very careful with the roots/ shoots.
