You can see the distinctive leaves too nut, like a clover leaf but much bigger. Would you like some seeds if I can collect them when the flowers die down?
Yes please GD.
Do I ever say no?

I'll do my best - the plant isn't very large, and could disappear in one fell swoop if OH attacks it - he doesn't like "weeds" as we both do. But the little yellow flowers are so pretty, and brighten up that part of the lawn.
You have to watch an OH
Last year I lost a patch of erythroniums to the mower. My fault really, I mentioned widening the path. But I meant later, after I'd taken the plants out

oxalis stricta, apparently Nut. I had to look it up - only knew the common name
. I'm guessing it's a bit more fussy about soil type - don't see it often and I haven't seen it 'round here - only the white one.
Just checked the website and it is recorded on the channel islands so that could well be it
