Looks like an oxalis, but not one I know

  • You can see the distinctive leaves too nut, like a clover leaf but much bigger.  Would you like some seeds if I can collect them when the flowers die down?

    Yes please GD.

Do I ever say no? image

  • I'll do my best - the plant isn't very large, and could disappear in one fell swoop if OH attacks it - he doesn't like "weeds" as we both do. But the little yellow flowers are so pretty, and brighten up that part of the lawn.

You have to watch an OH image

Last year I lost a patch of erythroniums to the mower. My fault really, I mentioned widening the path. But I meant later, after I'd taken the plants out

Is it wood sorrel? With the flowers closed up?

oxalis stricta, apparently Nut. I had to look it up - only knew the common name image. I'm guessing it's a bit more fussy about soil type - don't see it often and I haven't seen it 'round here - only the white one.

Just checked the website and it is recorded on the channel islands so that could well be it image
