Mushrooms in the lawn

Three years ago we chopped down some conifers whose roots extended across the lawn. Each Spring and Autumn we're getting more and more tiny mushrooms as the tree roots are starting to decompose. Literally hundreds of little mushrooms grow on our 50' lawn.

Can we now expect mushrooms every year forever more? Or will they cease at some point, e.g. 2 years, 5 years, 10 years etc?

if they're on the roots of the conifer they will move on when there's no more food.

But not all fungi are on tree roots.

There are outbreaks of assorted fungi every year, fascinating things.
