Jasmine with yellow stems?

Hi all
Really hoping someone can advise!
I bought a jasmine last year as soon as we moved to our new home not really knowing anything about gardening but full of enthusiasm and no patience!
This year I really want to learn more and keep all my plant tags and labels now so I don't have the same problem! So far so good!
I can't remember which type of jasmine I bought and subsequently I don't know what to do with it in terms of pruning and care. It's now mid March and very 'stemmy', a bit crazy looking and just yellow stems! I noticed today it has red buds forming. I've researched online but found nothing ...
any ideas or help really appreciated!

Can you post a photo Allthegear? There are so many Jasmines, including one that isn't a jasmine, it's hard to know where to start
