Dahlias for newbies

as a garden newbie and about dig our border out we got list of plants etc that we want grow we south facing 

but was going to leave dahlias until next year but I've fallen in love with tall bright orange ones and must have them ???????? but no idea how start with them etc and care but I do know I can't grow from seed as no space ,any advice be great
