Prepare garden soil for planting vegetables?
in Fruit & veg
I want to start growing vegetables so I've cleared a small area in my back garden and have used a pitchfork and a 4 prong claw weeding remover to get rid of the weeds and roots. However there are still lots of little roots in the soil which are loose but there are quite a lot of them(it would take a long time to take them all out). I want to grow peas first and I'd like to know whether this will be a problem (having lots of little loose roots in the soil).
Thanks.

Hi Will and welcome
When you say 'little roots' how little is little? And do you know what sort of roots they are? Some roots will die when detached from the plant, whereas some will grow a new plant from every little bit of root.
Can you upload some photos to give us a bit more info?
Start with the camera icon - if they don't upload try reducing the size.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Don't need to wory about these - the bed will need some weeding as the peas grow anyway though.
Yes, they'll be fine. Good luck with the peas - let us know how you get on
