My rubber plant (Ficus) is dying! But why?

Hi,

Could anybody help me by suggesting what might be wrong with my Rubber Plant?

I have had it about 6 years, and it had been growing well since bring it home.

However, about 5 months ago, I noticed it wasn't looking so happy. I thought it could be over/under watering so adjusted to see if it helped. It didn't. I thought it might be lack of light so moved it to a brighter spot. That didn't help. I have recently repotted it with new soil. Still no change.

The leaves are drooping. Older leaves near the bottom have fallen off. Often after going yellow as you can see from the pictures.

Perhaps there is some nutrient deficiency. But i would have thought changing the soil would have helped.

As a plant known for being easy to maintain, the slow death i am putting it through is doing nothing for my green fingered conference or morale :-)

Any suggestions, much appreciated.

Is it in a draught? Have you fed it in the past every two weeks during the growing season? Some leaf loss is natural as it will grow into a tree in the wild.

Nope, no draughts. It was watered perhaps weekly. Fed, a couple of times a year.

If the leaves weren't drooping and weren't yellowing in that chlorosis type way, i wouldn't worry about the leaves falling. It just i've noticed a clear decline over the last few months. The leaves become much more yellow than in the picture attached before they fall.
