Thanks Lazysundays! Got someone in to do the patio as I knew they'd do a better job than me! The rest of the garden's all been our own labour. We only put raised beds in because our garden slopes from top left to bottom right of the picture.
The beds are proper railway sleepers - all cut to size by hand (not something I'd do again). Personally, I'd save yourself the hassle of raised beds. The garden is big enough to take some nice big beds and allow you to divide the garden up a little - kid friendly area, dining area.
Verdun: I have wisteria on the back of the house, a climbing rose on the garage wall (to the right of the pic) and have just planted Rambling Rector for the back fence. Also have sweet peas on the go!

Thanks. I love the idea of camellias. I wonder if they would grow well in our soil. I'll need to investigate!
I bet it was hard going cutting those, Nick! Thanks for the advice regarding the raised beds.
Obelixx, I hadn't even thought of painting some trellis panels. Thanks.
Hopefully I'll be able to update in a few months time with progress.
