Evening all. Beautiful spring day today. Can anyone help with putting a name to this plant? Thank you.

Maybe redcurrant?
Looks like a currant bush to me as well. Do the leaves have that characteristic smell when crushed?
Strange. It definitely smells. I don't know anything about currants, never grown them before. It's funny how the mind works sometimes. I didn't see it last year and I've been living here for a year and 3 months. It's in the shade. Shall I just let it be? Thank you.
It might be a flowering current which is purely a decorative shrub, such as Ribes aureum or Ribes sanguineum.
It could be a gift from a bird. I get blackcurrants popping up in odd places after the blackbird has been feasting !
It's not Ribes aureum but it could be R. sanguineum, that seeds around
In the sticks near Peterborough
Thank you. I will let it be. Not much will probably grow there anyway.
