Planting 2 Vegs together??

hello all on this glorious sunny day ....

just a quick question... as I'm new to all this Veg growing, would it be ok to plant early potatoes and onions in the same raised bed...

It's a rather large bed and was hoping they'd grow well along side each other .

Thankyou

  • It might be better to plant quick growing "catch crops" early on as these will be ready before the spud foliage gets too big.
    Salad type crops for example.
Either that, or if there is space between the plants you could try taller plants such as Tomatoes or cucumbers grown up canes.

Try broad beans and potatoes together, they are a traditional paring with the potatoes supposedly benefiting from the nitrogen fixation by the beans. I did this last year with second early potatoes and a normal tall variety of broad bean and it worked OK for me.

  • Fabulous !!!!!!

    Thankyou Steephill for your reply
