What are these?
I've moved into a new house where plants etc were put in the front of my house. During the week I noticed the enclosed growing and was wondering if anyone can help me identify what they are. Are they some type of fungi?
If more pics are needed then just let me know.

It's not one I recognise but likely to be a fungus growing from the wood chips
In the sticks near Peterborough
They look like Morels, possibly the most sought after of edible mushrooms:

Be careful though as there is the False morel which is toxic:

They do look very like morels
But don't rely on me .....................
If I were you I'd contact your local wildlife trust and see if they know of a fungi/mushroom expert who would be willing to ID them for you. You could be in for a gastronomic treat

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I've just opened one and this is what they are like inside.
I will see see where my local wildlife trust is to try and get some
clarification.
Many thanks
That's looking very positive - true Morels are indeed hollow:

But I echo what Dove said; Get an expert to confirm.

The Wildlife Trust has responded advising the Biodiversity Society project officer has identified them as Morel Fungus ( Morchella esculenta).
Thanks for advising where to obtain further assistance from
