Repairing lawn
Hi,
we we installed a soak away from the front of the house to the back to replace an existing one. The builders that did this dug out lots of clay and covered the soak away back up with it.
I I am now preparing it for returfing but one area about 1 meter sq is very spongy under foot and it was never like this prior to the drainage work. I'm assuming there is no simply too much compacted clay in that area.
My question is how best to fix it? I was think of digging out about a foot of clay but I'm not sure what I should then do? Would it be to then put down a layer of small stones and then fill with topsoil and compost? I just need that area to be firm again.
thanks in advance for any suggestions.
