jaffacakesjaffacakes Posts: 434

Hi all, these 3 are all over my garden at the moment and just want to know if i should definitely get rid. I don't mind some weeds if they have pretty flowers but i guess if they self seed everywhere it might be the problemimage

Thanks in advance

    No.1  is willowherb, bin it.

    No.2  looks a bit like a geranium ?

    3 could be purple toadflax (which the bees love) but I'm not 100%, stems look a little off

    No.3. Milkweed, euphorbia peplus.

    2 looks like Herb Robert, which is a Geranium and usually regarded as a weed, I however like it, except for the smell when it is bruised, which is horrible.

    Agree with Willow herb and Euphorbia [ can't remember which one, but a weed}

    How can you lie there and think of England

    2 definitely  NOT Herb Robert (one of my favourite plants for shade and I just pull it out where I don't' want it--can't understand why others don't like it.  Nearly evergreen with bronze foliage and pink flowers and grows in dense shade --or sun or anywhere which is its only downside).

    It's  another of the weedy geraniums or perhaps a buttercup.  I have that and am letting it come up to see what it is?

    Could 3 be Scarlet Pimpernel?

    No toadflax in there at all.

    The weedy geranium I'm thinking of has small purple flowers, but I can't remember it's name.

    image Herb Robert--  Finely dissected leaves.  Gorgeous! (Except the smell)
