Gro-Sure Farmyard Manure

ShepsSheps Posts: 2,236

Today I gave my raised beds and large pots and mulching of Gro-Sure Farmyard Manure and to be honest I wasn't quite expecting what came out of the bags.

Now, never having used Farmyard Manure before, should I be seeing whats in the above picture?.

I know it's organic matter, but this stuff was mixed throughout the entire bag and to be honest I was expecting something completely different.

On Verdun's advice I had initially bought some Chicken Manure Pellets, but like a Numpty I took those back and exchanged them for the Gro-Sure Wood Bits image

Used gro-sure  before and never had anything like that in it ,noticed HB advertising it for £3 a bag which seems very cheap

Looks like I might have been unlucky with this particular batch.

Just out of curiosity, what should it be like?, I was expecting something similar to a course compost.

I had some before and that was alright, like pokhim said probably just a bad batch.

I got some manure last year from a local stable, after getting home it had loads of rubber bits in it from the rubber mat floor, had to seive the lot  image

Thanks very much, Zenjeff...the manure in your pictures looks just like mine, so maybe not to bad after all.

Think I was expecting something different, and not something that looks likes a cross between bark chippings and compost.

I use about 30 to 60 bags of it a year and never had one like that - seems you were unlucky. image

It normally looks like course compost, as you say you expected.

Hi Bob...both my bags look the same as Zenjeff's, so with yours were there any bits in it like in the above pictures?

I've had really good bags, and the odd one that looks like yours. Quality seems to be variable.
