Honeysuckle/Jasmine around a tree?

We are having a lot of work done in our back garden (as you can see, and it's very much "work in progress").
My wife would like honeysuckle and jasmine climbing around the large tree in the photo, but the problem is finding somewhere to plant them within the vast array of tree roots.
There's not a lot of room as you can imagine!
Any suggestions for two complete novices please?
Many thanks
Rob

No. It's chippings.
Assuming the sun is on the right of the photo, I would plant the honeysuckle and jasmine on the left hand fence. If you plant them about 3 metre apart, the roots will get plenty of water. As they grow, they can climb into the tree. Planting at the base of the tree will mean the climbers will always be short of water. The roots need to be out of the rain shadow of the tree.
West facing aspect so we do get a lot of sun on that left hand fence, and it tends to hang around until late in the day.....
On the right hand fence you could fan train a morello cherry tree. Add a clematis or two to give summer flowers. In the chippings below the tree you could plant spring flowering bulbs. They will cope with the dryness in summer.
Thanks for the advice and suggestions everybody. Will chat with the "boss" tonight to see what she thinks.......
I think my wife has now decided to position the honeysuckle and jasmine on the left hand fence as suggested.... that way it will still be close enough to the seating area to hopefully benefit from the scents.....
Looks like she is now going with twinkly lights up the tree branches
Apparently, she has loads of those lined up.
In her words "she is all over the scented bit"
Hope so!
Big barbecue being put in this week-end. Weighs a ton! Should look nice on the concrete hardstanding just in front and to the left of the shed as you look at it in the piccie.
