They are so pretty though and I always like to see wildlife. They are all around here but have never yet come into my garden. Maybe because the French hunt has made them too nervous of people.
I feel that Jacqueline has come on here wanting to share her excitement at seeing a beautiful pheasant so close up and we've thrown cold water over it. They are lovely birds even if they do eat people's plants.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Wow I did not think that my picture would cause such a lot of feelings about them. Each to their own I guess, but we were so surprised to see it in our garden, when we do not live anywhere near any fields or farms, so where it has come from is beyond us. It is still a beautiful thing In my eyes anyway.
And thank you busy-lizzie I was excited, a tad deflated now. Still never mind, back to just putting pictures of just flowers on the forum.
Had a great day in the garden today, beautiful sunny day, all of the spring flowers are reaching up to the sky. And the colours are beautiful. I potted on some of my seedlings, planted some more seeds. Little Robin is busy making a nest in our Ivy. Oh and yes after my interview at the garden centre yesterday, I received a phone call this afternoon, and I am going there next week for a trial run. Hopefully fingers crossed that will be the next stage to hopefully getting the job.

Hi Busy-Lizzie,
Yes ... you are right ... ‘Mea culpa!’
They are pretty birds .... but I can't learn to love them (even if they did take to eating slugs)

I hope you aren't discouraged Jacqueline, but pictures of flowers are lovely and I look forward to seeing yours.

Saw my first pheasant last week. Flew away when next door's cat started showing an nterest.
