To be clear these are tree lillies not normal lillies.

they have been permanently outside in the garden since planting, no heating etc

Just ran out and gave all the pots a 180 turn.

they were pointing in the suns direction so fingers crossed

I have tree lilies in the ground. They are not even poking through yet. Ordinary lilies in pots with no protection are growing. I put it down to the mild winter.

It has been very mild up here (Scotland) but we had some heavy frosts last week followed by mild weekend.

planted last october, 18 inches deep, with a bit of bonemeal fish blood stuff.

it was mid jan they appeared, i did wonder why so early but assumed it was normal because they are tree lillies

Would it be worth giving them a feed ?

Lilies always like feeding. They also cope well with a top dressing if the soil or compost is not to the top of the pot.   Mix new compost with some blood fish and bone or those osmocote granules, and use this supercharged mixture to top dress the bulbs with. Roots come out of the stem to help stabilise the plant.
