Good grief I'm jealous, my rhubarb is just starting to show pink on the buds, just about enough to let me know it is alive.
Was that outdoor grown or in a greenhouse? No expert - you certainly are a rhubarb expert!
My Dad grew his in a cold GH and it was huge plant, whereas we have tried growing it outdoors but forced with a bucket of the crown - .

I picked this from my unforced clump of Timperly Early last week
and made a rhubarb and custard cake

That looks seriously delicious that cake.
The rhubarb has a lovely colour to it, bet it tastes really delicate, No expert.

You aren't only a rhubarb expert Dove, that cake looks very professional too - I bet it tasted yummy!

It's a very straightforward recipe and a great favourite here at this time of year

I find it takes a bit longer to cook than the recipe suggests.

That looks absolutely wonderful, in fact, as I have no rhubarb it's worth buying it for making a cake like that, thank you
