Pruning fuscias and roses

I'm sorry these photos are upside down  I've no idea why  theyre the right way up on my phone! To add perspective, the rose stems are about 1 foot long. Do I need to prune either plant? image

The roses look fine.  Once the last frost has passed you can prune the fuchsias further back to just above one of the buds further down near the base if you want to tidy them up.  Remove any dead stems (ie ones with no buds) right back to the base.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Thanks so much bob. I'm a novice and have researched when to prune things but how to prune just seems to vary and confuse me!
