aym shes still a bit young (9) to have a real practical interest, but turn it into a competition with her brother (11) and its game on.

I bought a packet of Mongolian Giant sunflower seeds, and have challenged them to who can grow the tallest...... winner gets a special treat (no idea what yet) and bragging rights lol.

Verdun, you`ve no idea lol, i`m tempted to go back today (only 15 mins away), there was a lovely petunia phantom i`m regretting not picking (and maybe a few others lol)

I`ve potted them on but still think its too cold and changeable up here in Scotland to put in cold frame yet, few weeks in the kitchen I think, unless anyone thinks otherwise ?

Far too cold here in Scotland for cold frame. Try and keep them in the best light and not too warm or they will  go all leggy. Wait until at least the end of March even into April before the cold frame.

Just my opinion but I think there is far too much bedding sold far too early these days.  Most of it will die and that is why they sell so much so early.......... so they can sell more at the right time.  I wouldn't plant any out until at least the second week in May and I live in southern England.

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

I order quite a few plug plants and pot them on into a frost free greenhouse and I also grow a lot from seed.  Nothing beats the thrill of growing from seed but if I only need a few of a particular plant it's easier to get the plugs.
