Sowing seeds in seed tray

I have purchased  some mini cold frames to sow seeds and was wondering what compost to use. What works best for you? and any useful tips would be appreciated ie, watering, light etc. Thanks

Any seed compost will do. In the best light possible. Don't be heavy handed with the water - moist is what you're aiming for. If you have specialist seeds follow the instructions on the packet. I always cover my seeds with vermiculite but compost will do.

Always check the instructions on the packet, a lot of seeds you don't cover at all, just sprinkle on the top of the compost.
